Kyle & Kimberly
Every great burger joint starts with a story. Ours starts with family.
Kyle and Kimberly are a mother-son team who've called Middle Tennessee home for over 25 years and who finally decided to chase a dream they'd talked for almost as long.
Kyle grew up in restaurants. Eighteen years of early mornings, late nights, and everything in between taught him that great food is only half the job, the other half is making people feel seen. He's the guy who remembers your order, asks about your day, and means it every time.
Kimberly spent decades climbing the ladder in corporate software leadership, building teams and solving problems for a living. But somewhere along the way, she realized the thing she wanted most wasn't a bigger title — it was a place where she could pour into people directly. Where success looked like a regular's smile, not a quarterly report.
So, they took the leap.
Floyd's is named for the man who warms OUR hearts, Kyle's dad, Kimberly's husband, and the heart behind a family nickname that's always meant comfort, loyalty, and showing up for the people you love. On September 23rd, 2025, with the help of family and friends who believed in the vision as much as they did, Kyle and Kimberly turned that name into a real place, with real food, in Smyrna, Tennessee.

The Story Behind Floyd's
Floyd’s isn’t just a name, it’s a legacy.
The name comes from a cherished family nickname passed down through generations. The youngest of four siblings was affectionately called “Floyd”, a playful nickname that stuck over the years and came to represent the heart of the family.
Years ago, “Floyd” and his brother "Sam" built a humble cottage by the lake. It quickly became the backdrop for countless memories. To honor his younger brother, Sam crafted a custom sign that read Floyd’s in a bold, distinctive font and proudly displayed it on the wall of the cottage. That name, and the feeling behind it, stuck. The same font now lives on in our logo, tying the past to the present. The photo to the right shows you the original inspiration for the Floyd's logo that still hangs on the wall in KY!
The cottage still stands today as a cozy Airbnb in Cadiz, KY, with Floyd’s still welcoming guests, just as it did for decades.
At Floyd’s Burger Joint, we’re proud to carry on that legacy. We’ve built a place where everyone is welcome, where meals are made with love, and where every bite reminds you of simpler times and good company.
